Switched at Birth question?

I know that some of you watch the show Switched at Birth on ABC Family, and it is on right now :) but anyways, as I was watching, I started to think about Monday's class and the language choices and communication modes that we talked about. I have not taken ASL yet, and I was wondering if they use strictly ASL on the show or if some MCE is used?

  1. I'm pretty sure it's strictly ASL on the show.

  3. They were having a marathon yesterday. Everything that I have seen so far has been ASL but who knows with producers, they might throw someone in who is also a signer and it be a complete different form of sign. I love watching this show. Its my one hour away from the world. I even turn my phone on silent.

  4. I tape it because I'm typically not home in time to see it. The deaf teenager (Daphne) I believe who uses her voice AND signs is not signing ASL at that time. When she signs to the Deaf boy they are signing ASL. So, you will see a variety of types of signing in this show.

  5. I love watching this show! My parents usually watch it with me so they make me mute it so I can show them what I'm learning at school. I usually can interpret pretty well until the actress Bay attempts to sign. She signs very broken and English-like so I usually can't keep the show muted the whole time. But I love all of the episodes!
